Young, Indigenous, and Decolonized

We envision a climate justice movement led by Indigenous and local women across the SWANA region, powered by innovative technology and rooted in decolonial practices.

The climate crisis is intensified by the enduring legacy of oppression, marginalization, and the erasure of indigenous and native voices.

Indigenous communities in the SWANA region embody centuries of adaptability, resilience, and sustainable practices. Yet, their solutions are often marginalized and overlooked. At the intersection of gender, climate, and social justice, young women in SWANA face compounded vulnerabilities, making their inclusion and leadership in climate action both urgent and essential.

Our Manifesto

Our work is rooted in land, knowledge, and resistance. Read our manifesto to understand how we connect climate sovereignty to food and cultural sovereignty, and how SWANA women are leading the systems change our region demands.

How We Create Change

Advocacy

We enter spaces like COP, CSW, and UN climate negotiations to challenge exclusionary systems and bring feminist, Indigenous, and frontline SWANA voices into global advocacy. Our work is rooted in solidarity, collective action, and liberation-centred organizing across movements and borders.

Healing Circles

We create spaces for collective care and restoration for women and gender-diverse people across the SWANA region living through climate crisis, war, displacement, and systemic violence. Through online and in-person gatherings, we use trauma-informed healing practices, art, movement, and reflection to nurture collective healing.

Training Trainers

We deliver trauma-informed crisis readiness and resilience training across the SWANA region. Our programs have equipped 250+ participants and community members with practical tools for climate response, digital safety, legal rights, and conflict preparedness.

Umriden Collective

At Umriden Collective, we work hand-in-hand with women’s cooperatives across the SWANA region to create natural beauty products that reflect the wisdom of our ancestors. Our journey started in Morocco, where we partnered with local cooperatives, and we are now expanding to empower even more communities throughout the region.
