Yara Itani
Policy & Research Committee
A social worker and advocate for gender justice, climate action, and human rights, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Saint Joseph University of Beirut. I have spent years on the front lines of crises, addressing gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health challenges among vulnerable Lebanese and refugee communities. My extensive field experience includes responding to the Beirut blast, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the escalation of hostilities in Lebanon.
Beyond my professional work, I am actively engaged in regional youth-led initiatives in the SWANA region. I serve as a policy committee member of Climate Sirens, as a stakeholder engagement officer at MENA4YPS and as a member of the Arab Network for Young Researchers in the Field of Economics and Social Rights.
