I am Mariam Gamal Louca, an Egyptian entrepreneur, gender advocate, and development specialist committed to promoting gender equality, social justice, and women’s rights in the MENA region and beyond. I am the founder and CEO of Arche, a start-up company based in Egypt that focuses on the development and distribution of innovative medical products.
I also serve as the Focal Point for the Education and Gender Equality Group at the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), where I support initiatives aimed at enhancing inclusive education and advancing gender justice.
As an International Member of the Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID), I contribute to global conversations on feminist policies, rights-based development, and intersectional advocacy.
I was honored to be selected as a Mentor at Girl Up, a United Nations-affiliated program that empowers young women leaders around the globe. Through this platform, I provide mentorship on gender equality, leadership, and advocacy.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and Biotechnology from the German University in Cairo (Class of 2013). I earned a Master's degree in Gender and Development Studies from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University. I also completed a diploma in Therapeutic Nutrition from the American University in Cairo, and a diploma in Philosophy from Oxford University.
With an academic foundation in gender studies, public health, and entrepreneurship, I continue to bridge the gap between grassroots activism and policy-level engagement to drive systemic change.
